Naruisi
Alonside the ridge of Mt. Tateshina are two layered giantic boulders, which is called Maiseki (resouding stone, or aka mirror stone). Once upon a time, when the wind brew hard, it resounded, which is why they are call ed so now; when they cry, they say that it'll lead to a bad weather. At a time, a carpenter tried to hack it off with a hammer to knock it off 2-3 times to be led to an earthquake reverbrating through the whole mountain, with fire rain falling upon him to death; the anecdote that tells us that we shouldn't knock it hard while making a bell-like sound when softly knocked. These stones are considered to be built in the mountaneous ridges or the mainstream of Kotou (old and east) mountain street as a site to celebrate local gods in Tatechina in the 6-7th century when the trade beween the west and the east started to be active. They are also thought to be made of lava rocks in Mt. Tateshina, frictioned with the flow of mud to be a smooth stone, without the possiblity of being one big rock split up. And suppose that either of the rocks had stayed in the current place, there would have to be the other gigantic rock split up near there as a matter of course, but there are no such trails or big enough rocks in there. When they researched the northern end of Mt. Tadeshina, in the slope near Wamizawa (swamp) they found several gigantic rocks split vertically like those. In addition, that those two have been brought over considering how those are placed is a good possiblity, with the labor spent of local people on bringing those gigantic rocks are surprising to remind us the sprouting enegies of ancient people and their religious belief in the god of Mt. Tadeshina.
