Okaya art archaeological house

Ancient artifacts from Jomon to Heian era discovered in the ancient remains within the city are exhibited; with precious artifacts such as "Clay doll of a pregant woman holding a pot" discovered in Mekiri remain or "Deep-bowl-shaped clay pot with a face-shaped handle" designated as one of the national important cultural artifacts being also displayed. Furthermore, sculptures made by Naoya Takei born in Okaya-shi, and works of Sadaichiro Takahashi and Morio Sode, Western-type drawers are contained, with many artifacts or calligraphy being broadly displayed.
