Myoken temple, Nakiryu (crying dragon)
South Nakiryu among 4-direction Nakiryus in Japan. Myoken temple is by its formal name called "Shingon-sect, Mt. Takeishi Myoken temple", first built by a local land owner called Atsumori Sanpei Takeisi during the Bunchi era of Emperor Toba in his hen garden. Thereafter, it has been moved and renovated; during Houreki era of 15th century, a residing monk called Kozan rebuilt Myoken building among main temple buildings, when he invited a drawer Shini to draw a dragon that has filled the whole ceiling of the main building tens of square meters wide. If you clap your hands right under the throat of the dragon, it will reverbrate with the back of the ceiling, giving out a great Nakiryu (crying of a dragon).
