Course overview

You can walk up to Musho tower from Kirigamine nature protection center for 30 minutes by roundtrip. In Kirigamine nature protection center, you can learn the nature and history of Mt. Kirigamine. Guided walk is implemented from 11:00AM on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays, too. In Jul and Aug, held every day except for Wednesdays (closed). Fee: \100 (for insurance).

Kirigamine Highland Nature Conservation Center You can listen to interpretations on nature, culture, history of Kirigamine Highland as well as plants and animals inhabiting there.Please contact us in advance if you plan to organize large activities like outings of school. Night walking in summertime and wallking on snow in wintertime are also available.

Mushotou Bell Tower on Kirigamine Highland (one of 100 landscapes where Mt. Fuji is viewable in the Kanto Region) It's a symbolic monument on misty Kirigamine Highland. Standing within Geroppara Mountains, Kowashimizu Marsh, and Wasurejinooka Hill, this arch-shaped Bell Tower peals out on misty days, indicating its location and guiding hikers. It's also a mark for hiking and trekking on clear days. With the height of 1,684 meters, it was built in 1959. The poem "Bell speaks up/ Mist mist mist/ Bell speaks up/ Survival survival survival" written by Taiko Hirabayashi, a novelist from Suwa City, was engraved on it.
