In Sasarikyu, bamboo (leave) plays the central role. In front is the wall made of about 800 genuine bamboo, called “Tokusabei”, with its area about 18,000 ㎡ or more. Within are consisted of “botanical garden area” and “Sukiya garden (traditional Japanese garden) area”. In the botanical garden area, there are more than 120 kinds of bamboo (group) centered around both domestic and international such bamboo. You can never find a botanical garden which has amassed such large number of bamboo (group). You can also compare the largest and smallest in Japan in your hands. A theory says general bamboo blooms its flower once in 60 years or so; if you are lucky, you may encounter one.
