Mt. Tateshina, entrance for climbing, 7th (height)
Mt. Tateshina is one of the best 100 mountains in Japan, located to the northernmost of Mt. Yatsugatake (mountains). For its beautiful cone-shaped figure, it is called "Suwafuji (Mt. Fuji in Suwa)" or "Menokamiyama (mountain of goddess), too. On the top is Tateshina shrine worshipped, with its Torii (large gate as the symbol of a shrine) standing on the height of 7th. The top is very spacious, covered with scraggy lava rocks, with 360-degree panorama.
