River Yokokawa, Sakura trees
River Yokokawa that flows into Lake Suwa from Mt. Hachihuse located to the north of Okaya-shi. The upstream of the river also is the important water source for Okaya-shi, with the surrounding area full of the abundant nature and pure water having been recognized as one of the best 100 water-source forests. In mid Apr, about 400 Sakura trees centered aruond Someiyoshino will be in full bloom, for you to enjoying waking under the arch of Sakura. From the mid-point of the river you can moutains of Mt. Yatsugadake; from late Oct to early Nov you can see the chaging colors of trees.
